About Us – Boardwalk Pet Rescue
In 2012, a group of animal lovers came together after identifying a desperate need in the community: too many cats were being abandoned, neglected, or left to fend for themselves. What began as helping a few strays quickly evolved into something more—a mission to give every cat a chance at safety, care, and love. That mission is Boardwalk Pet Rescue.
As the word spread, more and more individuals began calling—not only about cats in need but also for guidance, resources, and assistance in caring for their pets. What had started as an act of compassion turned into a city-wide effort to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats in danger.
With years of combined experience in rescuing, networking, and working with other rescue groups, our founders recognized the need—and the opportunity—to do more. Boardwalk Pet Rescue was founded on that vision: to create a sanctuary for cats with nowhere else to turn.
We've adopted out hundreds of cats and kittens to loving, forever homes ever since. Every cat that comes through our doors receives a full veterinary exam, FIV/FELV testing, vaccinations, spay or neuter surgery, and any additional medical treatment they might need before being adopted. We carefully screen every adopter to ensure each placement is safe, stable, and loving.
But we don't stop there. We are also deeply committed to informing the public about responsible pet ownership, adoption, and spay/neuter services to curb overpopulation. By engaging our community, we aim to create lasting change and give more cats the chance for a brighter tomorrow.
Looking ahead, our dream is to relocate to a stand-alone shelter building so that we can save even more lives and expand the services we provide to cats and the humans who love them.
Boardwalk Pet Rescue is a proud 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Together, with your help, we believe every cat—no matter their past—deserves a safe, loving home and a second chance.
